I am currently making a solid English Oak Kitchen and Alcove cupboards and a English Cherry super king size bed.
Bristol Dock Gates
There are 3 pictures on my seating page which show the piece.
I have finished transforming the second (2 tonne) piece of the old North Junction lock gates from Bristol Harbour into a sculptural bench. The gates were removed at the beginning of the year and it was felt that a permanent reminder of this piece of Bristol heritage should remain on the dock side. The piece was taken straight out of the 130 year old lock gates and still retains a lot of the original metal work and bolts. I was astonished to find that the nuts and bolts, that had to be removed, could actually be undone by hand after more than a century underwater.

We were looking for an individual, bespoke piece of furniture and were impressed by items of Jim's work displayed on his website. We contacted him and discussed our requirements with him and, satisfied that he could meet our requirements, we asked him to build us a piece of furniture. Throughout the construction process, Jim kept us fully updated on progress. On completion, Jim personally delivered the furniture and undertook the final construction on site. Inspecting Jim's work at this stage it was obvious it was all we had hoped; it is a beautiful piece of furniture and Jim's standard of work is exceptionally high; the wood selection was especially well considered. Considering the difficulties of purchasing any handcrafted work via photographs on a web-page and by telephone and e-mail correspondence, Jim did us proud. I would have no hesitation, whatsoever, in recommending Jim to any potential customer.
