One of my most recent beds shown here (above and to the left) is an Oak and Cherry Superking Size Bed.

Beautiful English Cherry is the main timber used for this piece, the English Oak is used for the slats of the headboard and footboard.
There is a heart motif in the central panel of the headboard. Inspiration for this piece came from the Arts and Craft movement.

This bed is finished using AURO natural oil wax impregnation. For more info on this finish please see links.

Made to order prices start at £1000 for a single.
London Plane Waney Edged Four PosterLondon Plane Four Poster

A very unique four poster bed.

The headboard, footboard and rails of this bed are made from London Plane. This timber came from trees removed when the Cabot circus development happened in Bristol. London plane has very special figuring which is created by medullary rays of the living tree. The medullary rays transport nutrients through the tree.

The posts and top rails of the bed are all made from Sycamore, which came form the Font Hill Abbey estate in Wiltshire.

Four poster beds start from £1200
CopyrightBooked matched English Yew single bed

I made this piece from Yew I have had for quite a few years.
My son, Lewis, was in need of his first bed and we thought a simple design would last him along time. We could have made it a small single but then when he gets older he would outgrow it. Hopefully this piece will last him into his teens?

Another maker in my workshop had recently purchased a new blade for our large bandsaw. I thought it would be good to get the most out of the Yew that I had and to do this I needed to rip down my 40mm thick boards into 2 x 20mm boards. By opening out these 2 pieces "book matched" timber is created. This can be best seen on the Headboard, but I also created the legs and rails the same way.
