The clients wanted a traditional family kitchen for the large open plan downstairs of their gorgeous country home.. It was a joy to make using English ash, which has a timeless beauty and creates a warm, welcoming kitchen that will last for generations.
We were pleased to add many traditional touches such as open corner shelves and face frame cabinets. Raised and fielded panels to the doors will stand the test of time, both in terms of practicality and style. Dovetailed drawers highlight the handmade construction and wooden runners showcase the craft of cabinet making.
As a delightful final touch, local basket maker Roy Youdale was commissioned to weave the baskets from locally grown willow.
This is just to say how pleased I am with your kitchen! The local English ash wood is wonderful. Your interpretation of our wishes and design is exactly how we wanted it. Your craftsmanship is unique and we can recommend anyone who would like a bespoke kitchen, to have a ‘Jim Sharples’ one!Mieke and Dugald
