Bespoke Bookcase Library
Red Earth Room, Kingsdown Bristol
We designed and made this bold and beautiful library for an 18th-century coach house in Kingsdown, Bristol. The new owners had a serious book collection – but no storage – and wanted to create a dedicated book room with floor-to-ceiling shelves, plenty of character, and a rich colour that made the space feel warm and inviting.
The Brief
The clients had just moved in and needed a proper home for their extensive book collection. They had a clear vision: to turn one of the rooms into a library that felt bold and personal, using Farrow & Ball’s ‘Red Earth’, which they chose themselves. Our job was to make it practical and beautiful – with adjustable shelves, integrated lighting, and joinery that worked with the quirks of their historic home.
