I’m absolutely delighted with my new alcove shelving, cupboards and desk top. Jim and Jo were professional, friendly and clear to work with, and Jo’s detailed digital drawings made the design easy to visualise. The craftsmanship is excellent, beautifully made and a pleasure to use. Installation was careful and efficient, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them it’s worth the wait.
We spent a good while looking for bespoke wardrobes in Bristol because our top-floor loft has an awkward 45-degree shape and we didn’t want to lose storage. We wanted something durable but simple and clean in design. Jim and Jo were honest, responsive and a pleasure to work with, and we appreciated being able to visit their workshop to discuss materials and colours. The design process was clear, timings were kept to, and installation was smooth. The finished wardrobe is beautifully made, very spacious, and we’d happily commission them again.

Jim and Jo have just completed a hallway storage cabinet for us, the finished result is absolutely stunning. I can’t believe how excited I am to start putting this piece of furniture to use, I’m sure it will transform our storage issues and looks beautiful to boot. From the start Jo and Jim were very responsive and hit all the target dates they set. The furniture was built in their workshop so their time on site was minimal but it was a pleasure to have Jim around in any case, he was very tidy and left everything clean once the job was complete. Jim and Jo are an amazing duo. Over the last year they have designed and built almost all the storage and shelving in our house: a beautiful and functional slatted airing cupboard, a deep shelf-lined cupboard in the old coal hole under the pavement (with a secret drawer in the stairs) a book room with wall to ceiling shelves, and four other custom made alcove shelving and cupboard units.
They have transformed the characterful, and sometimes challenging, quirky spaces of our 18th century coach house. Their professionalism and craftsmanship are a pleasure to behold and benefit from! Top quality materials are a hallmark, and they sourced fabulous lights for a bedstead for a tiny space.
Utterly reliable, no mess, and lovely people to work with. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Jim Sharples Furniture designed and built a beautiful set of corner shelves in English oak.
From a high level brief, Jo developed a number of candidate designs. Having selected a design, we received regular updates, including photographs, as materials were sourced and prepared.
Jim visited us to finalise measurements and discuss finishes.
We are delighted with the finished product, the workmanship and attention to detail are exceptional.

I would fully recommend Jim if you need logs planking up. They were friendly and efficient and it was great to watch them convert some yew logs into amazing-looking planks. All the wood was stacked where I wanted it and they did a great job of tidying up afterwards
Jim Sharples created the most beautiful bed for me in cherry wood.
He was professional and courteous, listened to my design ideas and incorporated them into the final design.

We got just what we wanted! Arriving at a design we loved for our under-stairs storage was helped enormously by the very professional drawings Jim had drawn up as we refined the idea. Everything happened when Jim said it would and the result is great! When we started using it, we realised we wanted a couple of internal shelves, which Jim then added. Really really pleased!
There are no words to describe the absolute joy of working with Jo & Jim and the end result. We are nearly one year in of living with our kitchen and its still absolutely perfect! The quality of workmanship from start to finish was impeccable!

It was great working with Jim and Jo from start to finish. They really listened to what we wanted and bought all the skills and experience to make it happen.
They’ve transformed an awkward space into a beautiful wardrobe. All the pipes and wires are hidden away at the back, but importantly for us there are a number of removable panels to access everything in case there’s a problem.
At the design phase it was so useful to have the sketch-up visualisation of the wardrobe, which Jo updated to take into account a few design iterations. Jo also produced samples so that we could choose the finish we wanted on the plywood.. which now looks exactly as we’d hoped. Jim was very considerate and tidy when he came to install the wardrobe; a welcome house guest!
We were really happy with the stress-free process and are delighted with the end result.
If only they could finish everything else off in the house for us too!
Jim came out with his mobile sawmill to help turn a 150 year old oak beam into shelves. We’d had to replace the beam during some house renovations but wanted to make use of the wood and retain some of our home’s history. Jim understood completely and took the time to listen and understand to what we needed. It was a risk without knowing the quality of the wood inside but we’ve ended up with four traditional shelves that will look great in our kitchen. I’d highly recommend Jim and would love to be able to get him back for other furniture making. Thank you 🙂
Jim showed Imagination, not only in interpreting what we wanted,but by suggesting ideas that fitted in with the overall ideas, and the work was done to a very high quality finish.
Jim and Jo impressed us right from the start of the design process, offering advice and guidance. The planning process was thorough, with material samples to choose from, exchange of ideas, and clear plans. The unit and shelves were delivered and fitted on time, and the place was left clean and tidy. The quality of the finished products is extremely high, and I am absolutely delighted. I would highly recommend Jim’s work, and will certainly give him my business in the future.
Jim did a brilliant job from start to finish and built us fantastic kitchen units. He involved us in all aspects of the design and worked quickly and was very tidy and helpful. After the installation he contacted us a couple of times to make sure that everything was OK for us. We would definitely recommend Jim and his company.
Jim has recently made us some more custom made cabinets for our study after designing and making some for us 7 years previously. From the first (re) contact the service from Jim (and Jo) has been first class. During the delays of lockdown in 2020, we were always kept informed regularly of timescales despite circumstances being out of Jim’s hands!

Just wanted to say how absolutely thrilled we are with our new shelving project. We have spent the last half an hour just gazing at it and planning what is going to go where. We have never seen or owned anything on this scale before in terms of quality and workmanship.
I am sure we don’t need to tell you this but it really is beautifully crafted and visually stunning. We are excited to arrange our books and special pieces but are going to take our time and enjoy it.

We would like to say how pleased we are with both the service and the quality of our new bespoke kitchen built and installed by Jim Sharples and his team. We had looked at the kitchens available at a number of the specialist bespoke kitchen showrooms in Clifton but we feel that in using Jim Sharples we have a kitchen which equals or surpasses those that we viewed and at a significant cost saving! Jim came up with some excellent suggestions in terms of design and ideas for finishing touches.
