Fitted Alcove Cupboards and Shelves

These lovely clients came to us with plans for their living room cupboards and shelves. Together we came up with the perfect design for the space. Alcoves can provide lots of useful storage.

We designed the right hand alcove cabinet to be a fireside bench seat, with a large drawer to store their logs and fire making things in for their log burning stove. The left hand cupboard needed to house the underfloor heating unit which also needed to be accessible. We overcame this challenge by creating a removable back panel to the cupboard.

As for the beautiful timber for the worktop – that is a nice story. A few years ago we milled a walnut tree and have been storing the gorgeous timber waiting for the right project to use it – this was the one!  And it looks superb against the colour of the cabinets. We were thrilled to be able to tell the clients the exact spot where the tree had stood!
