The Vines Room Divide
The brief for this handmade room divide was interesting and immediately inspiring for us. We love to work with people who really want the finest furniture made in the best way with the right materials for their homes.
This is a very sustainably and newly built (almost passive) house. The clients had chosen a theme of Oak and Red Cedar for the front door, staircase and exterior cladding. Therefore they wanted the room divider to tie in with that style. Being a busy family they wanted plenty of storage and to store the whole houses’ AV equipment in the same place and to make sure it was in a well ventilated unit. There was also a double-sided wood burner too which needed to be in-cooperated into the design.
We are cabinet makers and we take the skill of working with wood further and we can focus on the finer details and the finish.
Large open plan areas can look a little austere, so it is always a nice idea to zone the spaces and create smaller ‘zones’ within the main. Not only is this is a busy family home but the clients also work here. Therefore, this room divider was indeed the key to providing a well-connected but also separate amazing space in the centre of their home. We are delighted with the finished result! Do let us know what you think or get in touch if you would like to discuss your project.
We are over the moon with the room divide that Jim and his team have produced for us. We had originally instructed a carpenter to make this room divider. Unfortunately it was not good enough and as a result this had to be removed. The craftsmanship and attention to detail that Jim has shown is simply beautiful. The dovetail joints are amazing and the mixtures of woods used make the piece truly stand out.
